Choosing a NeckPro mattress

How do I choose the right mattress for my sleeping position and body weight?

Start with your sleeping position, body weight and preferred feel. Side sleepers usually need more cushioning around the shoulders and hips, while back sleepers often prefer medium-firm to firm support that helps keep the spine in a neutral position.

As a general starting point, sleepers below 70 kg may prefer medium-soft to medium-firm comfort; those around 70–90 kg often suit medium-firm support; and sleepers above 95 kg may benefit from firmer construction, stronger coils and denser comfort layers. Every model feels different, so compare the specifications in our mattress collection or visit a showroom for a guided trial.

Which NeckPro mattress is suitable for a heavier sleeper?

Heavier sleepers should prioritise durable pocket springs, appropriate coil gauge, reinforced edges and high-density comfort layers. NeckPro’s firmer ranges, including selected Suisu Plus and SUMO models, are designed for people who need stronger support, but the suitable model depends on body weight, sleeping position and comfort preference.

Check the weight guidance on the individual product page or contact NeckPro before ordering, especially if one or both sleepers weigh above 100 kg.

Is a firm mattress always better for back pain?

No. The best mattress is supportive enough to keep your spine comfortably aligned without creating excessive pressure at the shoulders, hips or lower back. A mattress that is too firm or too soft can both feel uncomfortable, depending on your body shape and sleeping position.

A mattress may improve sleep comfort, but it does not diagnose, treat or cure back pain. Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional if pain is severe, persistent, follows an injury or is accompanied by numbness or weakness.

What is the difference between pocket spring and Bonnell spring mattresses?

Pocket springs are individually wrapped, allowing each coil to respond more independently to the body. This generally provides better contouring and motion isolation, which can be useful for couples or light sleepers.

Bonnell springs are interconnected in one spring system. They often feel firmer and more responsive, but movement may transfer more easily across the mattress. Many NeckPro mattresses use pocket spring systems for targeted support and reduced partner disturbance.

Which NeckPro mattresses are suitable for hot sleepers in Malaysia?

Look for breathable cover fabric, pocket springs that allow airflow and comfort layers designed to manage heat. Selected NeckPro mattresses, including models in the Extreme Cool range, use cooling fabric and breathable materials intended for Malaysia’s warm climate.

Cooling sensation and temperature comfort vary by person, room temperature, bed linen and mattress protector, so try the mattress in person when possible.

Are NeckPro mattresses good for couples and light sleepers?

Many NeckPro pocket spring mattresses are designed to reduce motion transfer because the coils respond independently. This can help minimise partner disturbance when one person turns or gets out of bed.

For couples with different body weights or comfort preferences, compare support level, edge support and motion isolation, then test the mattress together before buying if possible.

What are the standard mattress sizes in Malaysia?

NeckPro’s standard mattress dimensions are approximately: Single 91.5 × 190.5 cm, Super Single 107 × 190.5 cm, Queen 152.4 × 190.5 cm and King 183 × 190.5 cm.

Measure the inside of your bed frame before ordering. A manufacturing tolerance of up to 2 cm in length or width may apply. Custom sizes may be available—please contact NeckPro for a quotation.

Pillows and neck support

How do I choose the right pillow for my sleeping position?

Your pillow should fill the space between your head, neck and mattress without pushing your head too far upward or letting it drop. Side sleepers generally need a higher, more supportive pillow; back sleepers usually suit a medium profile; and stomach sleepers often need a lower, softer pillow.

Shoulder width, body size, mattress firmness and personal preference also matter. Explore NeckPro’s pillow and bolster collection or book a guided pillow trial at the USJ experience store.

Can an ergonomic or cervical pillow cure neck pain?

An ergonomic pillow can support a more neutral sleeping position and may improve comfort, but it is not a medical treatment and cannot guarantee relief. Neck pain can have many causes, including posture, injury and underlying health conditions.

Consult a qualified healthcare professional if your pain persists, worsens or is accompanied by headache, dizziness, numbness or weakness.

Can I test a NeckPro pillow before buying?

Yes. NeckPro’s USJ Taipan experience store offers guided pillow trials. The team can help narrow down one or two options based on your sleeping position, body size and whether you experience neck or back discomfort.

Contact the store before visiting to confirm availability and arrange your trial.

Delivery, setup and mattress care

Why did my NeckPro mattress arrive compressed in a box?

Selected NeckPro pocket spring mattresses are machine-compressed and vacuum-packed to make delivery and handling easier, especially through lifts, staircases and narrow doorways.

Once the plastic is opened, place the mattress on a suitable base and allow approximately 4–7 hours for it to expand before use. The mattress cannot be recompressed at home after unpacking.

Is a new mattress smell normal?

A mild new-product or packaging smell can occur after a mattress or pillow is unpacked. Keep the product in a dry, well-ventilated room and allow at least seven days for the odour to diminish naturally.

If the smell is unusually strong, persists or causes irritation, stop using the product and contact NeckPro for assistance.

How should I care for my NeckPro mattress?

Use a flat, firm and supportive bed base; keep the room dry and ventilated; protect the mattress from stains and moisture; and avoid jumping, standing, folding or bending it. Rotate the mattress head-to-foot monthly for the first three months, then approximately every three months.

Only flip the mattress if its product instructions confirm that it is double-sided. Turn-free or pillow-top mattresses should normally be rotated, not flipped. Read the full mattress care and warranty terms.
